2019/2020 Winnipeg ICE Content
I was fortunate enough to be able to produce some videos for the Winnipeg ICE during their inaugural season as part of a three-week work placement offered by Red River College. I may have worked for other sports teams in Winnipeg before, but this was the first time I had the opportunity to produce multimedia for one of them.
Simply put, it was unreal. I produced a lot of media during those three weeks, and was able to continue working on-call with the Winnipeg ICE throughout the rest of the season.
Here’s a sample of some of the content I was able to produce with the ICE.
B-Roll Sizzle Reel
This is a short sizzle reel of promotional b-roll footage I filmed during, (and after) my work placement. Think of it like a greatest hits album, but with b-roll.
NOTE: Not all of the footage in this montage has been used by the ICE in promotional material
Superhero Night Promo
This is a short, silly, little video I was able to pitch, edit, and get approved to play on the Jumbotron during my work placement — which was pretty cool for me since I took the initiative to pitch this to my boss. It wasn’t able to be shared on the Winnipeg ICE’s social media since it contained copyright footage, but they were able to play it at the game — so this is technically a peer-reviewed meme.
Daily Interview Segments
Every morning, Mitch Peacock and I would film an interview with one of the Winnipeg ICE players or coaches after practice. On game days, we’d produce similar content for the post-game interviews.
