Good Night Sweet Prince
Created: February 2020
Jake is tired of eating broccoli, so his roommate Skip (the floating SkipTheDishes logo) makes a noble sacrifice.
These two videos were part of a collaborative assignment with the advertising students, for a fictional client (which was SkipTheDishes in this case). I was required to direct and edit a 30-second commercial and 60-second explainer, while my assigned partner wrote the advertisement and oversaw production.
Tessa Allen (my assigned partner for this assignment) wanted to portray Skip as this “fairy-godmother” like entity, (literally) blasting away all of Jake’s cooking related inconveniences. Tessa also wanted to have a wacky and intentionally-cheesy tone with this advertisement, as her requests for special effects included “green screen explosions” and “like a really fast red line for a laser beam.”
I guess you could say I delivered.
